Known for its beautiful flowers, long buds, and tall, stately appearance, the hybrid tea is said to be "the queen of all roses." The blossom is usually symmetrical, with a spiraling center. Stems are long and straight, most often bearing a single bloom on each stem.
The grandiflora is similar to its sister, the hybrid tea, but also closely akin to the floribunda, sharing characteristics of both. It often has two or three blooms on a stem, giving a "candelabra" effect. Rose breeders strive to develop strong, disease-resistant varieties of hybrid teas and grandifloras, but antifungal treatments are recommended for this group in most areas of the country.
